Roselea Secure First Super League Points Of Season

COLONY PARK V MONTROSE ROSELEA

MCBOOKIE.COM NORTH SUPERLEAGUE

SAT OCT 7TH 2017

Report by Roy Gill

Montrose Roselea went into this game looking to make up for last week’s poor performance at home to Inverness City.

Roselea were again missing a few players and worryingly both Joe Aitken, Lloyd Hester and James Collier were all missing meaning the striking options were limited. Two Amateur Trialists were drafted in

Roselea: McLeod, Mitchell, Soutar, Reoch, R Taylor, Smith, Rae, Greig, Doan, Duncan & Cruickshank. Subs: Jones, Hay (T), Tringham (T), Thomson, Campbell.

Five changes were made to the starting 11 from the Inverness game and Roselea came out the traps with a couple of good early opportunities.

Cruickshank was slipped through twice from the left but the Colony Park keeper was equal to both efforts.

Colony Park did have their moments and they hit the bar after one attack.

A close range shot from Greig and a goalmouth scramble had colony park on the back foot. Then halfway through the first half Duncan managed to finish from a rebound off the post to make it 1-0.

Half Time: Colony Park 0 Montrose Roselea 1

Roselea’s second came shortly after the restart as Greig was again quickest to a rebound off the post to smash home from a tight angle.

Smith & Duncan both had efforts go narrowly wide as Roselea kept up the hunt for a vital third goal.

Duncan made way for Hay while Jones replaced the impressive Greig and Tringham came on for the returning captain Rae to ensure Roselea returned to Montrose with all three points.

Full Time: Colony Park 0 Montrose Roselea 2

A very professional away performance from Roselea who can be happy with their efforts.

This Saturday Roselea will look to continue with more of the same when Ellon Utd come to Broomfield Park. Ellon sit in 5th spot in the Table having taken 10 points from their opening 6 games. The Kick Off at Broomfield Park is 2.00pm
